![[Rush.png|250]] The Rush Common Skill is a Movement skill, primarily used to get ahead of other racers. Occasionally, Rush may also be used for track skips, shortening jumps, and negating boost loss. The max speed for Rush is dependent on your racers top speed, and whether you are falling or not. The fastest that any racer can go is using normal rush, while free falling. Rush also provides brief invincibility in both activations. You can use this to go through obstacles, players, and avoid getting stunned from other skills. It worth noting that as of Season 10, depending on your racer class, you have rules about picking up Movements Skills while in first place. "Brawler, Defender and Trickster Class Racers will no longer pick up Common Skills Boost or **Rush** when in first position." "Speedster Class Racers will no longer be able to pick up more than one of Common Skills Boost or **Rush** in a row when in first position" ![[FirstPlaceSkills.png]] > [!note] > Without a way to measure distance in game, I'm using "car lengths" as a loose measurement. ### Normal Activation All power levels of Rush last for ~2 seconds. The first second is spent rapidly accelerating *(if not already at your max speed)* and invincible. You lose the invincibility after the first second, but continue going at max speed for an additional second. When comparing the "distance" traveled between a power 1 and power 5 was is... very small. The difference in distance traveled is about two car lengths in game. The higher power rush may have also had slightly more acceleration. I'm unsure if there is any difference in the distance covered in the power range of 2-4, considering how small the difference is from power 1 to 5. ### Charged Activation The charged version of rush is a series of 3 small rushes, with short time in between each rush forwards. During each shortened rush, your are invincible. Once activated, you alternate between rushing and not rushing every 1/3 of a second. The process of swapping between "rushing" and "cruising" takes about 2 seconds in total. The "steps" of swapping back and forth would look like the following: | Time | Mode | | ---- | ---------- | | 0.00 | Start Rush | | 0.33 | Cruise | | 0.66 | Rush | | 1.00 | Cruise | | 1.33 | Rush | | 1.66 | Cruise | | 2.00 | End Rush | Speed may be lost during each of the "cruise" sections if you are not boosting.
